I think right now is a wonderful time of the year. Not least because it’s my birthday in a few days! I think over the years that timing has helped me to stay mainly ‘up’ at a traditional ‘down’ time.
My mind has turned to 2020 art making and I have filled my studio walls with blank canvases to provide inspiration.
Watch this space!
A very Peaceful and Happy Christmas to all my readers, supporters, customers and mentors. THANK YOU for all the support you have given me.
It has been an exciting, enjoyable and very creative 2019 and I am buzzing with new ideas for next year.
I wish everyone very best wishes for the New Year – see you soon – in 2020.
Here’s a date for the diary – 19 of the 2019 ABCAT participants all together in a room!
It will be nice for us too, given we don’t see each other on the trail days.
Hope to see you there.
Tidying up now from the ABC Art Trail. What a wonderful weekend!
THANKS to all the visitors – we reckon more than 350 – amazing given the difficult weather on Sunday.
THANKS for all the interest in my work and supportive comments – it means so much.
THANKS for all the purchases, people were very generous.
- How much my husband enjoyed running his VIP lounge
- Chatting to the gentleman who remembered visiting the house as a child when his uncle lived here in the 1950s and showing him round
- Myriam’s amazing lollies!
- An excited lady buying one of my new large works for her new house
- Talking about my methodologies and motivations
- Watching people enjoying our garden
- and – not least – enjoying working with and getting to know the other wonderful artists on the trail. I am so happy to have found many like minded new friends
The garden is looking lovely – it is filled with textures and shades of green. Pretty weeds and a wild lawn have been encouraged and embraced!
We’re all ready for the ABC Art Trail next weekend, looking forward to welcoming many people to enjoy our art, and chill over a goodie from the Nice Lolly Company.
This is shaping up to be a great weekend – with the whole team of 30 artists pulling together to make an eclectic, entertaining and exciting spectacle in Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell.
Keep the dates free – 1st and 2nd June, 11am to 6pm
And keep watching for full details on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/abcarttrail/ and website http://www.abcarttrail.uk/
One of a series of wild flower field felted artworks…
These depict what I see in the edges of the meadows at Haddon Hall.
A beautiful textural depth of greens with little pops of petal highlights.
I was delighted to be invited to take part in the Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell Art Trail this year – my first exhibition.
Before the event, I was content to meet a few people and chat about my work, so I started out nervously and apologetically. However, I was overwhelmed by the warmth and generosity of the community. It was great to meet up with friends, neighbours and guests in our back garden and kitchen. It was an absolute pleasure.
Thanks are due to all the organisers, the participants and everyone who visited.
Save the Date for the Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell Art Trail!
My beloved Art Shed is open 2nd and 3rd June 11am to 6pm, along with 10 other venues with 26 artists and artisan craft workers showing their work.
I am working hard on new pieces to present an attractive portfolio.
Interest is growing locally thanks to the team of artists working together to spread the word.
THANK YOU to the wonderful people who are giving me advice and raising my confidence.
I am so excited to report that I have been invited to show my felted, embroidered artworks and my beloved Art Shed as part of the Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell Art Trail on 2nd and 3rd June 2018.
This included a peer review by fellow artists, so I am thoroughly delighted to have had this recognition.
This is a lovely event to work towards. I look forward to welcoming my community in!
