I grew up in Beverley and still go back every few weeks to visit my parents.
Beverley Minster stands out of the landscape from miles away in many directions.
I am lucky to have the amazing Jo Beattie as a regular client.
She explores the importance of toys in childhood and uses shadow to depict the important influence in memories.
I have been with her as she has been working towards the Knit and Stitch shows this Autumn and her exhibition is going to be absolutely amazing.

I’ll be showing this, along with new work, at our Attenborough Village Hall ABCAT Art Fair on Sunday October 27th.
I’m very pleased to have created new bespoke sofa covers last weekend, allowing two old leather sofas to live on for a few extra years.
At the same time, I did a rather nice treatment to our front windows using window film.
The whole spruce up cost less than £60 for 4 windows and 2 sofas!

I was walking at the local Attenborough Nature Reserve recently and the beauty of these wild flowers enticed me all along the trail.

My fingers are twitching to get going with my felting and embroidery again after a few weeks off.
Here is a recently completed commissioned – a very large cake, for a very special 90th birthday.
It was the best sort of cake – made with love and care, demolished in hours!
I learnt an amazing new technique in just a few hours at another hugely enjoyable Living Threads workshop recently.
New York Beauties (names after the spikes on the Statue of Liberty) has allowed me to make a super stylish cushion as a gift.
I highly recommend Living Threads workshops, they offer a large range, taught at Risley, with brilliant tutors.
As you may remember from a previous post, my massive applique work ‘Lace Market’ was accepted for the University Summer Exhibition and was on display for 3 weeks in July.
Even more exciting news – it sold! On the second day!!
Thank you so much to the mystery buyer from Mapperley. You have boosted my confidence enormously.
I hope you enjoy this work, which was made with great care and affection.
