The garden got a good overhaul too.

Years of work here and there over the last few years came to fruition this year.

I love it when a garden does that. So do the cats!

The house needed a bit of love and attention this year.

I sanded and dyed the floorboards, moved the furniture around, put new curtains up, painted the walls.

The result – some soothing changes, a new feel to familiar surroundings.

 

In 2016, I took up painting for the very first time. I loved watercolours, blues and greens especially.

I went on holiday to France and painted every afternoon.

I have not got a huge talent, but found immense enjoyment and peace from the activity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last year I worked with two very talented local artists Rita Mitchell and Janet Barnes on enhancing their on line presence.

It’s amazing to think of the possible reach with a good website and/or blog.

I understand the importance of portraying operations online with the cake business I ran from 2010 to 2016, Classy Cupcakes and Posh Patisserie

I got orders from the USA, Australia and Malaysia through my website and social media.

I’m hoping to help other small local creative people reach a similar audience.

It might seem a bit self indulgent, but please indulge me…

I can’t sit still with my fingers always looking to fiddle with something and my head full of bright and colourful ideas, nostalgic skills, beautiful images, pretty items.

All together it is much more – a process of expression, a method of healing, an celebration of the good things in my world.

 

 

CREATE – I am going to create, create, create during 2017 and I will be sharing my creations to help build my confidence.

INSPIRE – I get inspiration from lots of difference sources. My eyes are open! I want to share the beauty I see.

COMMUNICATE – Marketing is the label for something I do. In reality, I love telling the stories of what inspires and drives creative people.
